AFG Town Hall Oct 8th 2025

October 8, 2025

Our latest edition of the Town Hall series is now available to view. This video series keeps our team informed and you up-to-date on current news and planning topics that may affect you. We value providing ongoing financial education to our clients and the public, and we appreciate you taking the time to view our Town Hall series.

Will Meneses shared a great topic with us this week: Long-Term Care. Planning for the potential of needing long-term care assistance is an important part of our process. A lot has changed in the ways we can address these potential expenses. With hybrid programs, we can leverage assets to provide for care if needed. Will takes us through some of the planning processes we employ to plan for these possibilities.

Steve Aul wraps up this Town Hall with an update on the Market. He also reminds us that reviewing allocations and profit-taking strategies are important parts of financial planning. Having too much concentration in a small group of stocks could expose you to too much risk.

Steve Aul wraps up our session with a recap of the 15th anniversary celebration we had on September 18th. We had such a wonderful time celebrating this milestone with our clients. We look forward to sharing many more in the future.

Our latest edition of the Town Hall series is now available to view. This video series keeps our team informed and you up-to-date on current news and planning topics that may affect you. We have found that the more effort we put into informing our clients, the better off they tend to be.

Will Meneses kicks us off with an overview of financial issues to review as we approach the end of the year. It can be easy to push off decisions like Roth Conversions, and we may not be used to taking things like Required Minimum Distributions if we have recently hit that age. Now is the time to take a serious look at your planning for the year to ensure you’re not missing anything important. Will does a fantastic job providing a list of items worth reviewing in the final quarter of the year.

Steve Aul is up next with an overview of what we have been seeing in the Market. Recent economic data further support the Fed cutting rates in September, and helped push the markets higher this week. Steve wraps up the session by discussing some of the upcoming events we have at Aul Financial Group. S

Will Meneses was attending an educational event, so Steve is flying solo for this episode. Steve’s main topic covers one of the driving forces behind the current market: interest rates. There is a significant amount of speculation surrounding the prospect of a rate cut by the Fed at its next meeting. This speculation is currently being “priced in” to the market. Falling interest rates can have both positive and negative implications for your planning. Steve takes us through some of the issues to watch out for and how these changes may affect you.

Our latest edition of the Town Hall series is now available to view. This video series keeps our team informed and you up-to-date on current news and planning topics that may affect you. We have found that the more effort we put into informing our clients, the better off they tend to be.

Will Meneses is continuing with his educational series on financial topics. This week, Will covered RMDs or Required Minimum Distributions. He covers some of the basic rules on when you’re required to take your RMD (depending on your birth year) and how important it can be to have a comprehensive plan for managing your income.

Steve Aul is up next with an overview of the potential impacts of the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ passing. He discusses the changes that are made permanent and those that are temporary. There are also numerous provisions that not everyone will be able to take advantage of. Steve provides us with a rundown of what we know and what we don’t know at this point.

Steve Aul is up next with a look at a complex issue, Roth Conversions and Back-Door Roths. Making the wrong choices can create problems that may follow you for the life of your IRA.

June 4, 2025

Our latest edition of the Town Hall series is now available to view. This video series lets our team keep you up-to-date on current news and planning topics that could affect you. We have found that the more effort we put into informing our clients, the better off they tend to be.

Will Meneses is down in Atlanta to further his education on tax planning, so Steve Aul was flying solo for this episode. Our planning team is continually working to enhance its knowledge, enabling us to serve your financial needs best.

Steve packed plenty of great information into this shorter episode. He begins with an overview of what we have seen from the Market and his thoughts on what is to come. Next up is a subject about which we receive numerous questions. What impact could the Big Beautiful Bill have on our planning? At this stage, there are more questions than answers, but Steve does a great job of breaking down the elements we are focused on. Legislative Risk is a subject we often discuss, and you can be assured we will be closely monitoring this.

April 22, 2025

Our latest edition of the Town Hall series is now available to view. This video series lets our team keep you up-to-date on current news and planning topics that could affect you. We have found that the more effort we put into educating our clients, the better off they tend to be. We recorded this week’s session a day early due to the company team building and training we have this week. The office will be closed on Thursday, April 24th and Friday, April 25th for this training.

Will is up first with his educational piece on the various headwinds retirees face in their planning. While discussing a handful of important topics, Will made a great point on the need for communication. The planning team works hard to maintain open communication with our clients, and we work hard to be accessible to you. This comes in the form of client events, educational events, reviews, and even these town hall sessions.

Steve starts off by hitting us with some market déjà vu. He found an article from 2019 that could have easily been written yesterday. It described a series of issues that were causing a spike in volatility at the time. The point Steve was making was the need to focus on the long-term plan over making hasty reactions during periods like this. That being said, plans always benefit from regular review and adjustment when required. If you haven’t seen us for a review recently, or you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

April 9, 2025

The April 9th edition of our Town Hall series is now available. As you would expect, market volatility is the main driving force behind this session’s Town Hall topics. Will Meneses starts us off by discussing how sentiment can drive some of our decisions and how the analytical and mathematical approach of Market Guard helps guide us through these times. Steve Aul wraps up this session by discussing the three main drivers of the Market. Steve also restates that we are there for you when you have concerns. If you need to speak with the team, now or in the future, don’t hesitate to give us a call or schedule a review.

March 17, 2025

The March 12th edition of our Town Hall series is now available for viewing. Will Meneses was out with a minor eye surgery, so we had our ‘classic’ lineup with Mel Brandon and Steve Aul. Mel starts by talking about one of his favorite subjects, Annuities. If you have met with us in the past, you’ll know we are proponents of using annuities in the planning process. The differences in how an annuity might perform can be complicated, and several factors can affect how a contract can perform, even inside the same company. Mel takes us through some factors that can affect annuity performance and cements why it is essential to review your annuity products regularly. If you have an annuity you would like reviewed, call us for an Annuity X-Ray.

Steve Aul wraps up our Town Hall session by discussing the Market. We have seen greater volatility in recent weeks, and these moments are when we can make emotional decisions that can impact our planning. One of the key points that Steve made was regarding risk tolerance. If these periods of volatility are causing you to feel significant discomfort, it could be a sign that you are taking more risk than you should be. You should have regular conversations with your advisor to adjust risk exposure and help keep your plan on track. This is why we proactively reach out to our clients for regular reviews.
